OVer one trade route, Europeans would export their goods oversea such as precious mines, slaves, or spices to Africa. There, traders switched off goods form Europe with slaves from Africa. Then slaves were transported to West Indies. Merchants bought sugar, coffee, and tobacco in the West Indies and sailed to Europe with these products. The other route was from New England to Africa. Europeans often carried rum and other goods. There they traded the merchants with slaves. The traders then transported the Africans to the West indies and was traded off with sugar and molasses. They sold these goods to rum producers in New England. Pattern kept going until the slavery ended.
